Description

HRP Associates, Inc., is seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Engineer/Scientist to join our Health and Safety Compliance team in Greenville, SC. This role will provide technical, hands on assistance on occupational health and safety compliance projects for a wide range of industrial clients. This is an excellent career opportunity for a self motivated yet team oriented individual to work with an experienced consulting team on a wide variety of projects. Types of work and responsibilities may include the hands on assistance and completion of the following scopes of work as well as the ability to provide sound recommendations and controls based on standards and guidance published by or referenced by OSHA:

  • Conduct OSHA compliance audits (alone or with a team) at client facilities
  • Develop written Safety Programs and associated training
  • Develop, implement, and maintain process safety management programs (all or in part) at client facilities
  • Complete Process Hazard Analysis and Job Hazard Analysis at client facilities
  • Provide on-site health and safety compliance support at client facilities which may include the implementation of on-site programs such as completing specific lock out tag out procedures, confined space entry assessments, pre-start up safety reviews, industrial hygiene monitoring, routine inspections, client training and similar support.
  • Prepare and deliver health and safety training in a wide variety of topics
  • Actively participate in HRP’s internal health and safety program
  • Assist environmental team as needs arise

Requirements

  • Minimum of Degree Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Engineering or other related field
  • 3-5 years of related experience, preferred experience within manufacturing facilities
  • Proven knowledge of OSHA Regulations and associated standards (NIOSH, ASTM, NFPA, etc.)
  • Certification or licensing preferred (ASP, CSP, CHMM, CIH, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
  • Ability to travel within North America and occasionally abroad
  • Proficient in Microsoft software package
  • High-energy individual who is goal-oriented and results-driven
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Proven self-starter; takes the initiative to identify and drive change
     

Additional desired capabilities

  • Knowledge of management systems (such as OHSAS18001, ISO14001, etc.)
  • General knowledge of environmental compliance matters (hazardous waste management, SPCC Plans, Stormwater Plans, EPCRA reporting, etc.)
