Description

HRP Associates, Inc., is seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to join our Health and Safety Compliance team in Greenville, SC. This role will provide technical, hands on assistance on occupational health and safety compliance projects for a wide range of industrial clients. This is an excellent career opportunity for a self motivated yet team oriented individual to work with an experienced consulting team on a wide variety of projects. 
Types of work and responsibilities may include the hands on assistance and completion of the following types of work:

  • Perform industrial hygiene and noise monitoring at client facilities
  • Conduct job hazard analysis at client facilities
  • Perform ventilation monitoring/testing at client facilities
  • Prepare equipment specific and detailed lock out tag out procedures for variety of manufacturing equipment at client facilities
  • Conduct confined space entry assessments at client facilities
  • Conduct machine guarding assessments for a variety of manufacturing equipment at client facilities
  • Conduct pre-start up safety reviews at client facilities
  • Construction safety oversite on behalf of clients
  • Prepare and deliver health and safety training in a wide variety of topics
  • Conduct routine health and safety inspections at client facilities
  • Conduct OSHA compliance audits (alone or with a team) at client facilities
  • Provide on-site health and safety compliance support at client facilities
  • Participate in various elements of process safety management plan preparation and implementation 
  • Actively participate in HRP’s internal health and safety program
  • Assist environmental team as needs arise

Requirements

  • Minimum of Degree Requirements:  Associates Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or other related field
  • Ten (10) years of related experience, preferred experience within manufacturing facilities
  • Proven knowledge of OSHA Regulations and associated standards (NIOSH, ASTM, NFPA, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
  • Ability to understand how equipment works, strong mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to travel within North America and occasionally abroad
  • Proficient in Microsoft software package
  • High-energy individual who is goal-oriented and results-driven
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Proven self-starter; takes the initiative to identify and drive change

Additional desired capabilities

  • Knowledge of management systems (such as OHSAS18001, ISO14001, etc.)
  • General knowledge of environmental compliance matters (hazardous waste management, SPCC Plans, Stormwater Plans, EPCRA reporting, etc.)
