Jackie Baxley, Project Manager at HRP Associates Inc. in Greenville, SC, was invited to attend the Inauguration of Dr. Nayef H. Samhat as eleventh President of Wofford College on April 25.

 

Jackie was asked  to represent Mercer University, her alma mater, because she is an active alumna in the area of Wofford College (the Upstate of South Carolina). Mercer and Wofford are both in the Southern Conference, so representatives of all schools are invited to inner-conference inaugurations.

 

"Education is the biggest investment made in one’s career," said Jackie. " I am always honored to further contribute to that investment by supporting Mercer.  Participating in Dr. Samhat’s inauguration was not only an opportunity to continue to give back to Mercer, but it was also a wonderful experience!"

 

As an active alumna, Jackie sits on the National Engineering Advisory Board for Mercer University. She graduated from Mercer University with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering and received her master's in Environmental Engineering and Science from Clemson University. Prior to working at HRP Associates, Jackie was an Advanced Environmental Engineer for Milliken & Company.

 

Wofford's new President, Dr. Nayef H. Samhat, is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He holds a B.A. in international affairs from George Washington University's School of International and Public Affairs, a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in political science from Northwestern University.
