Description

HRP assisted a private client who under 29 CFR 1910.147 was required to have written lockout / tagout procedures for all equipment and machinery with more than one energy source or lockout point.

HRP reviewed applicable machinery / equipment that needed written lockout / tagout procedures and assisted the client's Maintenance Department in identifying lockout points and safe shutdown procedures.

HRP then prepared written lockout / tagout procedures for over 300 pieces of process equipment and machinery with more than one energy source or lockout point.  HRP utilized the Microsoft Word lockout / tagout template provided by the client as a base for each lockout / tagout procedure. HRP grouped machinery (e.g., shading tanks) whenever feasible and supplement the base lockout / tagout procedure with an appended spreadsheet or table detailing specific lockout points or safe shutdown procedures.

HRP also completed lockout / tagout procedures for miscellaneous or utility related machinery / equipment (e.g., boiler, unitary heaters, compactor).
