May 11th, 2021

May 11, 2021 (Clifton Park, NY) − HRP Associates Inc. (HRP), an environmental engineering and hydrogeology firm in Clifton Park, announces the addition of Christopher Sbarra, Matthew Conti, John Gorman, and Patrick Montuori.

Christopher Sbarra, Project Consultant

“HRP is pleased to welcome Christoper Sbarra into our team of professionals that will support our On-Call Engineering Contract with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) from the Clifton Park office,” said Jessica Kruczek, Contract Manager. “Chris made a positive impression on NYSDEC Project managers as a graduate student while attaining his Masters in Geology from the University of Buffalo when he reviewed complex site data and presented his findings to stakeholders and the State, leading them to revise their investigative approach. He has a great outlook, and approach to projects.  He may even have a chance to put his skills in carpentry and welding to use at some of our sites.”

Sbarra’s responsibilities include support of HRP’s Standby Engineering Contract with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Chris will be using his expertise in developing conceptual site models to identify the best approach to complete site characterization and remediation for various State, Superfund, and Brownfields projects across the State of New York, and beyond. He will be an integral member of the team, performing site assessments, characterizing site soil/groundwater/sediment/surface water/soil vapor, providing data analysis, and designing and executing remedies to protect potential receptors from possible contamination.

“I’m very excited to begin working for HRP and to start my career in environmental consulting.  Working in environmental consulting will allow me to clean up contaminated sites, revitalize currently unused properties and help improve the community’s health.  Everyone at HRP has been very helpful during my onboarding and initial training.  I could not be happier with my new position.” said Sbarra.

Sbarra is a graduate of the University at Buffalo where he received a Master’s degree in Geology and Professional Science Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology.

Mr. Conti’s responsibilities include the technical support of projects focusing on air permitting and EHS compliance for our clients across North America including food, aerospace, Hi-Tech, manufacturing, education, and healthcare.

“I look forward to the opportunity to work on many different and diverse projects. I am excited about HRP’s focus on creating practical solutions and about my role in making those solutions a reality” said Conti.

Conti is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where he received a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

John Gorman, Project Consultant

“HRP is pleased to welcome John Gorman, another recent University of Buffalo graduate, into our team of professionals that will support our On-Call Engineering Contract with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) from the Clifton Park office,” said Jessica Kruczek, Contract Manager. “We started our conversation with John a while back, and we are thrilled that we are able to bring him aboard after all of the positive references and experiences shared with us by those who worked with him before us.  John has a wonderfully positive attitude, incredibly strong work ethic, and a natural inquisitiveness that will serve both him and us well as he grows in his role as a Project Consultant and beyond.”

Gorman will perform site assessments, characterize site soil/groundwater/sediment/surface water/soil vapor, provide data analysis, and design and install remedies to protect the environment from contaminated media. John’s primary role will be in support of HRP’s Standby Engineering Contract with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. In fact, with only a couple of weeks under his belt with HRP, he has been thrown into the deep end supporting a complex and long-term remediation project in New York State.  We wish him great success!

“The reason I am so thrilled to be working for HRP is that I am being given an opportunity to gain experience on a wide variety of projects early in my career to really develop me into a strong professional. That luxury can be under-looked at other companies in the field!” said Gorman.

Gorman is a graduate of the University at Buffalo where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences.

Patrick Montuori, Senior Project Consultant

“We’re glad to have Pat as part of our team here in the New York office,” said Mark Wright.  “Pat’s experience taking remediation projects from start to finish, including some sites in the New York State brownfield program, is going to be an asset to us working on the NYSDEC contract.”

Montuori’s responsibilities include providing technical support and assisting in the management of projects focusing on environmental investigation and remediation. His other areas of expertise include due diligence environmental assessment and water supply assessment.

“I am thrilled to be joining the team at HRP’s Clifton Park, New York office.  I look forward to the challenges ahead as we take on site remediation projects as part of HRP’s contract with NYSDEC and beyond,” said Montuori.  “I hope to build on my experience working on Phase I’s and II’s, UST spill cleanups, and sites in the NYS Brownfield Cleanup Program and be an asset to the team.”
