A Values Statement
February 7th, 2022
It is typical for firms to have a mission statement. The mission statement generally explains the company’s duty, and what it will do for its clients.
A values statement is different. It represents how we execute the mission statement in a way that reflects our company culture, morals, and well, values.
At HRP, culture is our greatest asset and always has been. Now coined “312”, culture is so rooted into the foundation of HRP, it supports the functionality of our organization. The significance of culture in how a company operates is what brings us to developing our very own Values Statement.
HRP has always been a values-led organization which most employees who’ve been here for a while know. Also, it has always been something that employees just get exposed to and pickup along the way. The purpose of developing a Values Statement is to capture that essence and spell it out in a statement that articulates the core principles that guide and direct HRP and its amazing “312”. “A business moral compass, if you will” says Daniel D. Titus, CEO.
Based on the sheer definition of a Values Statement, the only way to develop it is by letting those who make it true, create it: The employees.
“The employee experience is important, and something firms need to take seriously” says Alicia Mojica Washington, HRP’s JEDI and Marketing Director. “When an employee feels valued, safe, seen, heard, represented, and accepted, the employee will perform at their highest level, which benefits the employee, the company and the clients.”
Involving the employees in developing the Values Statement is just one of the many things HRP is doing to support an inclusive “312”, which in turn supports the clients and communities in which HRP serves. HRP launched an anonymous survey last month to all its employees, with questions on what they believe is HRP’s value.
We are very excited to announce the development of our Values Statement, and in what better way, than on HRP’s 3:12 Podcast. In an upcoming episode , we will have HRP’s CEO, COO and DEI consultant, Indelible Impressions Consulting, reveal the company survey results and discuss the next steps in our journey as we create a statement that is true to who we are.
