23 Ahead, 40 Behind
January 31st, 2023
2022 has come and gone. Personally, it flew by but that seems to be typical as I get older. 2023 is upon us and brings renewed hope that things can continue to get back to “normal” as we are still dealing with the impact of covid-19 in the health arena and in the overall global economy. There are glimmers that things are turning around and are heading back in a positive direction. Business-wise, HRP enjoyed one of our best years in the company’s history as projects both new and formerly delayed by covid kept us busy throughout the year and prompted the hiring of an HRP record 35-plus new people in 2022.
40 years ago in 1982, John Housman, Joe Rinaldi, and Mark Possidento formed a partnership and began HRP Associates, Inc. in a two-room walkup office with little to no heat on the second floor of a lawyer’s office in New Britain, Connecticut. What began back then with 3 people has grown to over 580 current and former employees and now has 9 brick and mortar offices. HRP has performed work in 40 states and in 24 countries. We were very fortunate to have some of our Founders and early Principals into the office to reminisce about the beginnings and last couple decades of HRP. Please take a moment to watch the video here.
With the 40-year anniversary upon us, we decided it was time to host an HRP Alumni event. We reached out to over 270 former HRP employees and Principals. On a sunny Sunday afternoon in August, we hosted the very first HRP Alumni Summer Reunion. Former employees from every decade of HRP were in attendance and it was such a special event seeing everyone, some of whom had left HRP nearly 30 years ago. What made the event a success was the feeling of community, of family, that HRP has always had as part of its character throughout these decades. Immediately following that event, we decided to host more Alumni specific events for other parts of the country going forward, hopefully on an annual basis. Please join us for some highlights of the first HRP Alumni Reunion here.
As I wrap this up, I would like to take the time to thank all HRP past and present for the decades of work hard-play hard, 3:12 family type of atmosphere I have been lucky enough to feel a part of.
Who knows what 2023 will bring us? Hopefully, for you and yours, for all of us, it is a year of happiness, good health and prosperity.
Take care of you and yours.
Cheers,
Bubba
