Description
HRP prepared a Risk Management Program for a major metalworking facility for compliance with EPA’s Accidental Release Prevention regulations (40 CFR Part 68). The process was classified as “Program 2” due to the on-site storage and use of propane, a listed flammable substance, above the 10,000-pound threshold.
HRP completed all required elements including the Hazard Assessment, Prevention Program, and Emergency Response Plan. HRP also prepared the written Risk Management Plan which was submitted electronically to the EPA.
Under the Hazard Assessment element, HRP evaluated the worst-case and alternative release scenarios. The EPA’s off-site Consequence Analysis Guidance was utilized to evaluate the impacts of these scenarios.
