Permitting, Compliance, Revision: What You Need to Know About Air in Three Free Webinars

October 1st, 2018 by Tom Seguljic

HRP has three free upcoming webinars for Air permitting, compliance, and revisions, which one is right for you?

Coming up first is our NYSDEC Air Permitting Process webinar (October 16,  from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.). Here we will take you through the numerous introduced and proposed air permitting revisions New York state as introduced in the past couple of years.

The march of new air regulations for the oil and gas industry within the Marcellus and Utica basins has finally rescinded. However, there are many permitting, operating, recordkeeping and reporting requirements that must be addressed for production operations within Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In Staying Compliant with Air Requirements in the Marcellus/Utica Region (October 23, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.) the presentation will focus on both federal and state (PA, WV, and OH) requirements as well as expected trends.

Air Toxics are pollutants that are known or suspected to cause cancer or other serious health effects. To address air toxics, the EPA established Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, subset of air toxics, and the Risk Technology Review (RTR) process which requires the EPA to regularly determine if existing MACT standards are sufficient to protect human health.

However, many states have determined that MACT and RTR are not enough to safeguard the public and environmental health and have incorporated additional requirements for the emission of air toxics that must be addressed during the permitting process. Don't Get Tripped Up By Air Toxics (November 6 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.) will discuss the approaches taken by states and the EPA to controlling air toxics. Attendees will leave with an understanding of the various air toxics review and permitting requirements.

Why attend? Your webinar presenter, Tom Seguljic, is a Vice President at HRP, with extensive experience in air, compliance in the state of New York. Tom brings his more than 30 years of environmental engineering and risk management consulting experience to his presentations and to HRP’s clients.

In these webinars you’ll get the information you need to remain in compliance. For those in New York State, if your air permit or registration has not yet been called in by the NYSDEC, it will be in the near future.

For MACT and RTR requirements, it is imperative that operators understand the potential impact on their operations, and position themselves to reduce the impacts, and develop a system to identify and implement/track requirements.

If the Air Toxics permit revision is not understood or properly addressed your facility can be subject to unnecessary control or permit conditions.  Once called in you need to be aware of the numerous changes that will impact your permit.
