One Week at HRP Greenville
June 7th, 2021
On our most recent 3:12 Podcast episode. we discussed the history of HRP’s Greenville South Carolina office. I was joined by Regional Manager Shaun Malin and COO/President Tad Goetcheus, who resides in the Greenville office. You can check out our conversation about the projects and past accomplishments of HRP Greenville here.
In this blog I’d like to cover a more personal side of getting to spend a week working in Greenville. Business is one thing, but it can’t tell you all there is about a place
For me this was a whole new kind of experience. I’m a New Englander who has not done a terribly large amount of traveling. The landscape up North has, as all places do, a particular feel to it. It’s that unique confluence of natural features and human design in the spaces you move through. In Greenville, there was an openness and space that I was not used to but welcomed. Just as unexpected was that sun! The heat is real down south. While Connecticut was hitting highs of 48 degrees in the rain, Greenville was sunny and 90 all week long.
For all the differences, it could not have been easier to feel like I was back at my home base in Farmington, CT. The Greenville staff was as friendly and welcoming as you could hope for. But more than just having and affable atmosphere, Greenville staff embody the best of working at HRP. There is always something going on and even though you’re the new kid in town, you’re welcomed in like you’ve been there for years. Working at HRP has always meant an instant chemistry with your coworkers that results in your best work and efforts and HRP Greenville is a perfect example of that spirit.
Outside of the office, Greenville is an exciting, beautiful, and up and coming city. Exploring the highly walkable downtown reveals new discoveries and different flavors around every corner, from architectural novelty, to regal treelined avenues, to a spectacular waterfall park in the midst of the downtown.
Greenville is a city with tons of opportunities for professional and personal growth. In that way, our Greenville office is the ideal match for the city. If this sounds like the sort of office you’d like to work at, keep your eye on our careers page to see what openings we have available.
